Under the guidance of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and after much prayer, Prayer Baptist Missions International, Inc. was organized February 14, 1989. It is recognized as a non-profit organization and its sole purpose is to help missionaries and local independent Baptist churches with their burden to carry the gospel around the world.
Prayer Baptist Missions International acknowledges that the local Church is responsible to send out missionaries and that mission agencies exist to assist the local church in this ministry. Therefore, PBMI seeks to unite Bible-believing, independent Baptist Churches with like-minded missionaries for the sole purpose of evangelizing the lost and establishing local churches around the world with the same faith and practice.
Gary Crisp is the General Director of Prayer Baptist Missions. Brother Crisp is from the small town of Robbinsville, NC and is a member of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church where Brother Jimmy Millsaps is the Pastor. Brother Crisp was saved in 1979 as a 9 year old boy in his grandmother's living room in an old-fashioned cottage prayer meeting. Brother Crisp announced his call to preach in 1992 after serving a term in the US Army during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Brother Crisp Pastored for around 17 years in the Robbinsville, NC area. In 2010, he resigned the Pastorate and went full time as a Missions Evangelist with Preachin' Time Ministries and served in Mission Helps from 2010 to 2017. He began as the Director of PBMI in August of 2017. Brother Crisp has been married to his wife Jeanie for 27 years and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
I am very proud to be associated with Prayer Baptist Mission International. The leadership honored me by making me an honorary member of the Mission, and I wear the Mission pin with pride.
It is my joy and privilege to teach at the Annual Mission School and can say that their missionaries are of the highest caliber. It is disappointing to see many Christian Schools and Mission Boards relaxing their standards. Prayer Baptist has not relaxed their doctrine nor their standards, and I feel that I can wholeheartedly endorse any of their missionaries. The men who make up the Board of Directors are united in assuring that the mission remain faithful to God and to His Word. I love Prayer Baptist Mission.
